Easiest logistics, most evening life, most touts. Good if you want a catamaran without a long transfer. Not the quietest sand. Choose a side street off the loudest strip if you sleep early.
Flic en Flac · Wolmar · Le Morne
Lee shore in the trades, kite in season, mountain. Flic is a town-beach; Le Morne is a peninsula with resorts and a village. Better if you care about light and water more than nightlife.
Belle Mare · Trou d’Eau Douce · Palmar
Trade-wind coast. Hotels here sell ‘wilder’ and often mean ‘the breeze is in your face’. Excellent when the west is a postcard you already did. Boat to Cerfs is next door.
Bel Ombre · Blue Bay · Mahebourg
Resorts exist; so do guesthouses near Mahebourg. You come for marine park, history museum, and empty-looking lookouts. You do not come to bar-hop. Pair with a car.
