What should I do on the first three days?
One boat (west lagoon or Île aux Cerfs), one inland morning (Chamarel or Pamplemousses), eat dholl puri standing up. Do not stack three paid tours in one day.
Airport taxi — what do I pay?
Use the official rank list in Taxi & cars. Ignore lobby touts. Prices are published by ATOA; they move — we show the method, not a fake fare.
Can I bring CBD or cannabis?
No. Mauritius drugs law is not a holiday souvenir. Read History, law, taxi. Jail is not a vibe.
I’m a resident. Is this only for tourists?
No. Use Eat like a local, Hotels by coast, Kids, and Emergency. Tourist boat days are optional.
Kids — what actually works?
Shallow west/north lagoon, SSR garden, one short boat, shade and toilets. Skip Le Morne summit and 7 Waterfalls with small children.
Where do I eat that isn’t a hotel buffet?
Dholl puri, gato piment, a Creole plate, one fish grill. Open Eat like a local. Hotel breakfast is not the island.
