Belle Mare
Belle Mare is the east's postcard beach: a long pale stretch, hotels, public access, sunrise rather than sunset. The trades make it a different swim from Trou aux Biches. On a blowing day it is a walk and a kite, not a snorkel. Pair with Flacq if it is market day, not with Chamarel. The east's light in the morning is the point; arriving at 15:00 from the west is the small-island mistake.
