Mauritius is not Ibiza. Grand Baie is the strip. Caudan is the lit waterfront. Villages go quiet — that is the civic clock, not a failed trip.

The north is the night
If you want bars, this is the economy. It is loud, tourist, and useful. It is a poor summary of Mauritius. Eat first; the kitchen clock is still Mauritian.
02 · Port Louis · shorter, lit
Caudan Waterfront
Casino, restaurants, private security, taxis on the door. A civilised evening if you are in the capital. When shops close inland, do not wander — come back here or leave.
03 · Hotel bar, then bed
West and south evenings
Flic en Flac has a few late spots; Le Morne and the south mostly do not. That is not a failed holiday. Bring cards, conversation, and a plan to sleep.
