Port Louis after dark

We do not publish a ‘ghetto map’. We say: lit waterfront, registered taxi, no isolated ATMs.

Grand Baie side streets
The tourist strip is busy. Poorly lit residential and beach lanes at closing time are where phones walk away. Go out, then taxi to the hotel. This is ordinary night sense, not a verdict on the north.
03 · Markets, buses, ATMs
Crowds and hands
Pickpocketing is the actual crime product for visitors, not cinema violence. Central Market, bus stations, and beach bags are the classic mix. One bag, zipped, street-side.
